An Easter tradition from Grandma Sardegna
Ingredients
Crust
- 1-1/2 lb.
- flour
- 3 Tbs. (Rounded) baking powder
- 1-/2 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. warm water
- Not more, maybe even less
Filling
- 1 lb. prosciutto
- 1 lb. pepperoni
- 1 lb. jack cheese
- Can substitute mozzarella
- 2 lb. ricotta
- 8 eggsl
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp,. pepper
Preparation
- Mix all crust ingredients into a ball and roll out
- Line pan with dough all the way up sides
- Retain a portion of dough for top crust
- Mix filling ingredients and pour into crust
- Cover with top crust
- Brush top crust with egg mixed with milk
- Bake at 325º for 45-60 minutes until crust is golden brown
