Cheese Balls

A great appetizer handed down from Grandma Platzner!

 

Ingredients

  • 60 medium olives
  • 60 almond spears
  • 4 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups flour
  • 12 tablespoons butter (NOT melted)
  • 2 tsp. paprika
  • Preparation

Advance Preparation

  1. Drain, dry and pit olives
  2. Insert almond spears into olives
  3. Combine cheese, flour, butter and paprika to make dough
  4. Flatten dough, make indentation for each olive and roll
  5. Place in a single layer on a cookie sheet and put in freezer
  6. Once balls are frozen hard they can be transferred to a plastic bag

When Ready To Serve

  1. Preheat oven to 450°
  2. Place in single layer on cookie sheet
  3. Cook for approximately 10 minutes

Makes 60 cheese balls.
